New 32M Superyacht Launching at Oceania Marine Shipyard

10 JANUARY 2011

Diverse Projects latest Superyacht project, the 32M ‘Black Pearl’, was launched atOceania Marine Shipyard on 29th December 2010. The completion of this yacht is a tribute to Diverse Projects’ virtual shipyard process which saw the participation of the finest and best from across New Zealand together with the considerable resources of Whangarei.

Oceania Marine provided one of the finest venues for new construction available within the region. Additionally they contracted for key components of the project, the main part of which was the preparation for and application of all external protective coatings ( through their specialist superyacht painting and refinishing company Oceania Marine Coatings Limited). Briefly, Awl-Fair was the main fairing material and the new Awlcraft SE fast dry effect system encompassing metallics, pearls and effect pigments used for superstructure and topside painting. This is a fast drying system with excellent opacity. The end result was a stunning combination of white, light grey and of course darker pearl grey as the main feature colour.

The vessel now enters its final commissioning and sea trials with the official handover and ‘launching’ on the 22nd January 2011.
